Peer Review Process

Home > About > Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Digital Research (IJDR) is a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to upholding high standards of scientific quality, research integrity, and editorial transparency. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to a rigorous, structured, and transparent peer review process prior to publication.

Type of Peer Review

IJDR applies a double-blind peer review model. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
Throughout the review process, the identities of authors and reviewers are  concealed from one another. This approach is intended to ensure impartial evaluation and to minimize potential bias based on personal, institutional, or geographical factors.

Reviewers and Independence

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers. The review panel normally includes independent external reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise.
Where appropriate, and particularly in highly specialized or interdisciplinary fields, members of the editorial board may also act as reviewers, provided that they possess suitable expertise and have no conflicts of interest with the authors or the submitted work.

All reviewers – external or editorial – are required to be independent of the authors’ institutions and research teams and to declare any potential conflicts of interest in accordance with the journal’s ethical standards.

Review Procedure

The peer review process at IJDR consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Assessment
Upon submission, the editorial office conducts a preliminary assessment to verify that the manuscript falls within the journal’s aims and scope and complies with basic academic, ethical, and formatting requirements.
  2. Assignment of Reviewers
The manuscript is assigned to at least two reviewers, selected from external experts and/or qualified editorial board members, based on their expertise in the relevant field.
  3. Double-Blind Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript according to established scholarly criteria, including originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the field, and contribution to existing research.
  4. Editorial Decision
On the basis of the reviewers’ reports, the editorial board reaches a decision, which may be acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, request for major revisions, or rejection.
  5. Revision and Final Decision
When revisions are required, authors are expected to respond to reviewers’ comments and revise their manuscript accordingly. The final decision regarding publication is made by the editorial board.

Ethical Standards in Peer Review

The peer review process at IJDR is conducted in accordance with internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and good editorial practice, as outlined in the journal’s Publication Ethics statement. Reviewers are expected to treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.

Transparency and Quality Assurance

Through its peer review process, IJDR seeks to ensure that all published articles meet established academic standards and contribute meaningfully to scientific and scholarly discourse. Documentation related to the peer review process is maintained internally by the journal to support transparency, editorial accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
