Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the International Journal of Digital Research (IJDR) for your submission. To ensure a smooth and efficient review process, please carefully read and follow the guidelines below. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be desk-rejected without review.

  1. Preparation of Manuscript

Article Template: Authors must use the official IJDR Article Template for formatting their manuscript. The template ensures consistency and facilitates the review process.

Desk Rejection: Articles not formatted according to the template may be desk-rejected and will not proceed to the review stage.

  1. Manuscript Structure

Ensure your manuscript includes the following sections:

  • Title: Concise and descriptive.
  • Abstract: A brief summary (150–250 words) outlining the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 5–7 keywords to help index your article.
  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance.
  • Methods: Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis procedures in detail.
  • Results: Present findings clearly, using tables and figures where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss implications, and relate them to existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings and suggest directions for future research.
  • References: Follow APA 7th Edition formatting (see below).

 

  1. Stylistic and bibliographic requirements:
  • Precise your language, use clear and concrete words so that to convey the information in an easy-to-understand message;
  • Write as short sentences as you can because they are easier and faster to be read and understood;
  • Avoid redundant words;
  • Avoid wordy phrases;
  • Use Past tense or Present perfect when reviewing the Literature (or whenever discussing other researchers` work);
  • Use Past tense or Present perfect when describing the Method of procedure;
  • Use Past tense when reporting results;
  • Use Present tense when discussing the implications of results;
  • Use Present tense when presenting conclusions, limitations, future directions, and so forth.
  • Use gender-neutral language and singular “They”;
  • Pay attention to punctuation, commas, and periods because they regulate the flow of expressed information in writings.

 

  1. APA 7th Edition Formatting

All manuscripts must adhere to the APA 7th Edition style. Key requirements include:

In-Text Citations: Use the author-date format e.g. (Smith, 2020).

Reference List: Include all cited works, formatted as follows:

Examples:

  • Journal Article:
    Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), Page range. DOI or URL
    Example: Smith, J. A., & Doe, J. B. (2020). Digital transformation in education. International Journal of Digital Research, 15(3), 123–135. https://doi.org/10.xxxx
  • Book:
    Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.
    Example: Smith, J. A. (2020). Digital innovation in education. Example Press.
  • Website:
    Author, A. A. (Year, Month Date). Title of the webpage. Website Name. URL
    Example: Smith, J. A. (2020, January 15). The future of digital learning. Example Education. https://www.example.com

Headings: Use APA levels for headings (e.g., Level 1: Centered, Bold; Level 2: Left-Aligned, Bold). Avoid using additional heading levels. Instead, use paragraphs and transitions to organize subsections within Level 2 headings. This approach ensures your manuscript is easy to follow and adheres to IJDR’s formatting standards.

Figures and Tables: Include clear titles and notes, and cite them in the text.

  1. Ethical Considerations

Originality: Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Plagiarism: All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism. Any unethical practices will result in rejection.

Authorship: Ensure all authors meet the criteria for authorship and have approved the final version.

Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Authors who publish in this journal must agree with the following terms relating to copyrights

(a) Authors keep all copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows sharing with recognition of authorship of the paper and initial publication in this journal.

(b) Authors are allowed to assume additional contracts separately, for non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in this journal (e.g. publish in institutional repository or book chapter), with recognition of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

(c) authors are allowed and are encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on your personal page) at any point before or during the editorial process, as this can generate productive changes, as well as increase the impact and citation of published work (see the effect of Free Access).

  1. Submission Process

Online Submission: Submit your manuscript through our online submission system.

Supplementary Materials: Any additional files (e.g., datasets, code) should be uploaded separately.

  1. After Submission

Peer Review: Your manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Revisions: If revisions are requested, submit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

Final Decision: You will be notified of the final decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection).

APC: An Article Processing Charge (APC) of 35 USD applies (Only if article is accepted for publication) Details here.

Licensing: Published articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.
