Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the International Journal of Digital Research (IJDR) for your submission. To ensure a smooth and efficient review process, please carefully read and follow the guidelines below. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be desk-rejected without review.

Open Access and Licensing
IJDR is an open access journal.
An Article Processing Charge (APC) of 35 USD applies only if the article is accepted for publication. There is no submission fee.
See full APC details here: https://ijdr.net/article-processing-charges/

Language requirements: Manuscripts must be submitted in English only. Submissions in other languages will be automatically rejected prior to peer review.

  1. Preparation of Manuscript

Article Template: Authors must use the official IJDR Article Template for formatting their manuscript. The template ensures consistency and facilitates the review process. Desk Rejection: Articles not formatted according to the template may be desk-rejected and will not proceed to the review stage.

  1. Manuscript Structure

Ensure your manuscript includes the following sections:

  • Title: Concise and descriptive.
  • Abstract: A brief summary (150–250 words) outlining the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 5–7 keywords to help index your article.
  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance.
  • Methods: Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis procedures in detail.
  • Results: Present findings clearly, using tables and figures where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss implications, and relate them to existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings and suggest directions for future research.
  • References: Follow APA 7th Edition formatting (see below).
  1. Writing Style and Language Requirements:
  • Use clear, concise, and concrete language.
  • Keep sentences short and direct.
  • Avoid redundancy and wordy phrases.
  • Use gender-neutral language (e.g., singular “they”).

Tense guidance:

  • Use past tense or present perfect when reviewing literature or describing the methods.
  • Use past tense when reporting results.
  • Use present tense when discussing results and drawing conclusions.
  • Follow standard punctuation rules to ensure clarity and logical flow.
  1. Citation and Reference Style
    APA 7th Edition Formatting
  • All manuscripts must adhere to the APA 7th Edition style. Key requirements include:
  • In-Text Citations: Use the author-date format e.g. (Smith, 2020).
  • Reference List: Include all cited works, formatted as follows:

Examples:

  • Journal Article:
  • Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), Page range. DOI or URL
    Example: Smith, J. A., & Doe, J. B. (2020). Digital transformation in education. International Journal of Digital Research, 15(3), 123–135. https://doi.org/10.xxxx
  • Book:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.
Example: Smith, J. A. (2020). Digital innovation in education. Example Press.
  • Website:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Date). Title of the webpage. Website Name. URL
Example: Smith, J. A. (2020, January 15). The future of digital learning. Example Education. https://www.example.com

Headings: Use APA levels for headings (e.g., Level 1: Centered, Bold; Level 2: Left-Aligned, Bold). Avoid using additional heading levels. Instead, use paragraphs and transitions to organize subsections within Level 2 headings. This approach ensures your manuscript is easy to follow and adheres to IJDR’s formatting standards.

Figures and Tables: Include clear titles and notes, and cite them in the text.

Originality: Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Plagiarism: All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism. Any unethical practices will result in rejection.

Authorship: Ensure all authors meet the criteria for authorship and have approved the final version.

Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
