Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the International Journal of Digital Research (IJDR) for your submission. To ensure a smooth and efficient review process, please carefully read and follow the guidelines below. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be desk-rejected without review.

Open Access and Licensing
IJDR is an open access journal.
An Article Processing Charge (APC) of 35 USD applies only if the article is accepted for publication. There is no submission fee.

Language requirements: Manuscripts must be submitted in English only. Submissions in other languages will be automatically rejected prior to peer review.

 

  1. Preparation of Manuscript

Article Template: Authors must use the official IJDR Article Template for formatting their manuscript. The template ensures consistency and facilitates the review process. Desk Rejection: Articles not formatted according to the template may be desk-rejected and will not proceed to the review stage.

 

  1. Manuscript Structure

Ensure your manuscript includes the following sections:

  • Title: Concise and descriptive.
  • Abstract: A brief summary (150–250 words) outlining the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 5–7 keywords to help index your article.
  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance.
  • Methods: Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis procedures in detail.
  • Results: Present findings clearly, using tables and figures where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss implications, and relate them to existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings and suggest directions for future research.
  • References: Follow APA 7th Edition formatting (see below).

 

  1. Writing Style and Language Requirements:
  • Use clear, concise, and concrete language.
  • Keep sentences short and direct.
  • Avoid redundancy and wordy phrases.
  • Use gender-neutral language (e.g., singular “they”).

         Tense guidance:

  • Use past tense or present perfect when reviewing literature or describing the methods.
  • Use past tense when reporting results.
  • Use present tense when discussing results and drawing conclusions.
  • Follow standard punctuation rules to ensure clarity and logical flow.

 

  1. Citation and Reference Style
    APA 7th Edition Formatting
  • All manuscripts must adhere to the APA 7th Edition style. Key requirements include: 
  • In-Text Citations: Use the author-date format e.g. (Smith, 2020).
  • Figures and Tables: Include clear titles and notes, and cite them in the text.
  • Reference List: Include all cited works, formatted as follows:

       

  1. Ethical Considerations

Originality: Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Plagiarism: All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism. Any unethical practices will result in rejection.

Authorship: Ensure all authors meet the criteria for authorship and have approved the final version.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools:
Authors may use AI-assisted tools for language editing, translation, formatting support, or structural refinement. However, authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of all content, including references and data. The fabrication of references, data, or substantive intellectual content through AI tools constitutes academic misconduct and will result in rejection or retraction. Responsible and transparent use of AI does not negatively influence editorial decisions.

Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  1. Copyright and Licensing

Authors submitting manuscripts to the International Journal of Digital Research (IJDR) retain full copyright of their work.

However, by submitting and publishing in IJDR, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. This means IJDR is the original publisher of the work and has the right to disseminate the article publicly.

All published articles in IJDR are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to share, copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work, even for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and to IJDR as the source.

Peer Review: Your manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Revisions: If revisions are requested, submit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

Final Decision: You will be notified of the final decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
